Contract
Project: 2D land seismic data commencing sometime in Q3 2017.
Estimated duration of the survey: 10 months

1) Geophysical Consultancy Services / Project Manager (Contract) – for in-house assignments (2 vacancies)
Responsibilities
  • Provision of technical advise in pre-survey planning of land seismic or drilling site investigation and refraction surveys operations. This shall include the preparation of tender and contract documents.
  • Review of all potential constraints to the survey operations and propose suitable acquisition parameters, systems and techniques to be used to ensure effective and efficient implementation of data acquisition operations.
  • Provision of technical advise in selecting the parameters for seismic data processing based on the operational constraints / problems experienced during the survey operations.
  • Provision of training, in terms of brieifings and discussions, advice and explanation to the client’s personnel and trainees, etc. on geophysical activities and operations
  • Conduct technical studies and reviews of Geophysical contract specifications and also to proposed standard guidelines for the QC supervision of any geophysical operations.
  • Provision of QC supervision of the seismic data processing, both in-field and in processing centers.
  • Conduct specialied studies (problems in data processing, low-frequency land acquisition, etc.)
Qualifications
  • Must possess at least a diploma or equivalent qualification in Geophysics , Geology, Applied Physics, Electronics or other related field and have a minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in acquiring land seismic data for the oil and gas industry.
  • Must have experience in planning, procuring, executing and supervising more than seven (7) land seismic acquisition surveys projects in the past five (5) years; and with at least one (1) in Sarawak and/or Sabah, Malaysia.
2) Geophysical Consultancy Services (Contract) – for field assignments (2 vacancies)
Responsibilities
  • Onsite supervision and quality control of field operations of the seismic survey.
  • Supervising to completion the recording, source, receivers instrument Quality Assurance tests according to the manufacturer’s specification before the commencement of the survey as well as during the survey operations
  • Monitor the seismic contractor’s overall performance based on the contract’s specifications and requirements and the agreed schedule.
  • Approve acquired data as acceptable and complete to be processed
  • Provision of advice and explanation to the client’s field representative(s) on all relevant aspects of the seismic survey
  • Provision of daily summaries of the survey operations, including details of line productions and specifying the rationales for decisions taken with regard to the survey operations. Consultant is required to use laptop type computer complete for reporting, logistical, control and analysis of survey data.
  • Provision of complete technical and operation survey report at the completion of the survey works. The report(s) shall include an analysis / assessment of technical performance of the recorded data and equipment during the acquisition, complete logs that highlight the operation status, problems and statistics of the survey operations.
  • Provision of in-field seismic data QC and processing systems.
Qualifications
  • Must possess at least a diploma or equivalent qualification in Geophysics , Geology, Applied Physics, Electronics or other related field and have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in acquiring land seismic data for the oil and gas industry.
  • Must have experience in handling, planning and implementing more than seven (7) seismic projects with at least two (2) projects within the last five (5) years.
3) Geomatics Consultancy Services (Contract) – for field assignments (2 vacancies)
Responsibilities
  • On-site QC supervision of navigation/positioning data for 2D land seismic surveys according to the navigation and positioning specifications in the contract documents
  • On-site QC supervision of the navigation/positioning calibrations conducted prior to, during and post survey operations
  • Monitor CONTRACTOR’s overall performance based on the contract’s specifications and requirements of the agreed schedule.
  • Provide daily written summaries detailing all pertinent or salient points relating to navigation and positioning aspects of the survey operation. The reports shall include precised rationale adopted for decision making. More detailed descriptions will be included in the final report at the end of the project.
  • Provide advice and quantification to the client’s field representatives on all relevant aspects of navigation and positioning conducted during the seismic survey operations.
  • Provide expert analysis and commentary on the performance of all software systems used by the CONTRACTOR on the seismic survey. This will include the INS, binning system (where appropriate) and all peripheral systems related to positioning techniques adopted by the CONTRACTOR.
Qualifications
  • Must possess at least a diploma or equivalent qualification in Surveying Sciences or other related field and have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in acquiring land seismic data for the oil and gas industry
  • Must have experience in handling more than five (5) seismic projects as a geomatics QC consultant with at least two (2) projects within the last five (5) years.
  • Must be experienced in conducting navigation calibrations for various positioning systems and setting-up and inspection of navigation reference stations.
4) Technical Auditors Services (Contract) – for field assignment (2 vacancies)
Responsibilities
  • Provision of technical audit in pre-survey planning of land seismic operations such as the selection of appropriate navigation systems, stations geometry, technical specifications or any other relevant details of positioning / navigation requirements.
  • Provision of Technical Audit on post-processing of survey positioning and navigation data at the processing centers designated by the client.
  • Review all potential constraints to the survey operations and propose suitable acquisition parameters, systems and techniques to be used to ensure effective and efficient implementation of data acquisition operations.
  • Conduct technical audit and review of the contract specifications and also to set-up standard guideline for the QC supervision of any operations that involves data acquisition / positioning / navigation systems.
  • Provision of training in terms of advice and explanation to the client’s personnel and trainee, interns, etc with regard to data acquisition, navigation and positioning systems.
  • Provision of technical audit in selecting the parameters for seismic data processing based on the operational constraints / problems experienced during the survey operations.
  • On-site QC audit of data acquisition / navigation / positioning equipment for the 2D land seismic operations according to the specifications of the contract documents.
  • On-site QC Audit of the data acquisition / navigation / positioning calibrations conducted prior to, during and post survey operations.
  • Auditing the seismic contractor’s overall performance based on the contract’s specifications and requirements.
  • Provision of a complete technical and operation survey report at the completion of the survey.
Qualifications
  • Must possess at least a diploma or equivalent qualification in Geophysical, Surveying, Engineering or other related field and have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in planning and implementation of Technical Audits for 2D/3D land seismic surveys.
  • At least three (3) years of experience as technical auditor in the last five (5) years.
