The principal role of the Business Development Manager is to co-ordinate the business development and sales primarily for Wood Group subsea business in Malaysia as well as the Asia region.  The role requires external focus at all times with drive to seek out new opportunities for delivery of Wood Group services. The position will be based in Kuala Lumpur and some travel around the region will be required.

Detailed Description

Responsibilities:
  • Seek, build and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients locally and in the region with the aim of turning leads into potential business opportunities.  
  • Implementation of strategic and operation plans for business development by working closely with various Wood Group stakeholders such as Key Account Managers, Local Management and Service Line Managers.
  • Coordinate BD activities with Local Management and Service Line Managers and manage the interaction with the wider Wood Group business network in the context of business opportunities for the WG Subsea service line.
  • Prepares regular updates and reports to local management and Wood Group stakeholders on business development activities and tenders.
  • Management of the BD budget and involvement with local management in budgets and business plan formulation.
  • Supports the Service Line Mangers in preparation of bids and tenders.
  • Coordinate and manage all marketing activities to build and develop the WG profile either via workshops, exhibitions, and seminars to keep up-to-date on changes in the industry.

·        Tertiary/university educated with a minimum 10 years’ business development in a high end engineering consulting business preferably in the area of Subsea engineering or upstream oil and gas industry. 
  •   Possess drive, motivation and acute attention to detail in ensuring all sales opportunities to Wood Group are captured and explored.
  •   Proven track record in the area of business development with strong networks and contacts in the oil and gas sector in Malaysia and also the region.
  •   Able to work with different stakeholders in Wood Group in offering a complete one stop solution to clients. The primary requirement is to support Wood Group   subsea services with additional responsibility to support Wood Groups other service lines.
  •   Strong awareness of oil and gas industry trends and competition.
·         Outgoing personality and is client focused with a drive to achieve desired sales targets.
·         Excellent communication and presentation skills with a high level of integrity and business ethics.

We are currently sourcing offshore process technicians to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. 

The successful candidate will be required to undertake:

Technical Skills:
                     Analytical and problem solving skill
                     Permit to Work (PTW) systems 
                     Control and monitoring of production chemistry, the hydrocarbon process plant and utility systems
                     Ability to identify and assess risks relating to processes, procedures, equipment and maintenance tasks
                     Solve operational problems fully utilizing the planned maintenance system
                     Ability to undertake operational and maintenance reviews 
                     Emergency shutdown and response management
This position will report directly to the Production Supervisor/ Team Lead

Detailed Description

The suitable candidate for this position will undertake the following responsibilities: 

                     Monitor asset operations on site. Includes adjusting local set points and gauges to accommodate fluctuations in operations. Report abnormalities to the lead operator or supervisor as required
                     Calculates various well tests/conditions to determine well parameters such as gas production, gas and condensate ratios, etc. Ensures the wells are flowing at optimal levels.
                     Assist the operations team in the monitoring, control and reaction to the process control, emergency shutdown and Fire and Gas System
                     Detect, identify and react to abnormal conditions that might develop into emergency situations
                     Process Safety Management activities (desirable) including process design, process technology, operational and maintenance activities and procedures, non-routine activities and procedures, emergency preparedness plans and procedures, training programs, and other elements which could impact the process 
                     Co-ordination of fluid sampling on the hydrocarbon process plant and utility systems, and analysis in the laboratory by the Laboratory Technician
                     Compliance with the Safety Management System
                     Perform the day-to-day outside duties to maintain a safe and environmentally sound operation of the assigned process facilities or area
                     Be responsible for isolating and preparing equipment for the first line maintenance technicians of process and process utilities as called upon
                     Perform various laboratory tests as required
                     Perform daily, weekly, and monthly routine activities regarding the wells and associated equipment
                     Participation in risk assessments when appropriate
                     Control and monitoring of hydrocarbon process plant and utility systems
                     Take appropriate action as directed in the event of process and utility system alarms and trips
                     Monitoring and recording of key parameters for hydrocarbon process plant and utility systems
                     Participate in Process Safety Management activities that involve process design, process technology, operational and maintenance activities and procedures, non-routine activities and procedures, emergency preparedness plans and procedures, training programs, and other elements which could impact the process. 
                     Ensure all JSA’s (Job Safety Analysis) are reviewed and understood and all associated paperwork is satisfactorily completed to permit and Quality Assurance requirements.
                     Liaise with the Onshore Technical Support as required
                     Provide OTJ (On-the-Job Training) for less experienced technicians so they are fully supported in their assigned tasks and perform competency assessment assurance
                     Ensure a safe place of work by complying with Permit to Work (PTW) system and safe working procedure(s)
                     Willing member of the emergency response team
                     Be familiar with and follow the Hess Life Saving Rules at all times


Job Requirements

                     Experience in a similar role is required
                     Experience in an oil/gas offshore production facility environment is.
                     Diploma or Technical Certificate in relevant field
                     Knowledge of DCS, Automation and Subsea control systems

Detailed Description

  • Provide Risk Based Inspection (RBI) support to Wood Group clients in Malaysia and S.E. Asia.
  • Provide technical expertise on Materials and/or Corrosion.
  • Authoring, checking and issuing of design documents for RBI projects.
  • Perform corrosion rate calculations to ensure continuing asset integrity management. 
  • Perform cost estimates and proposal authoring for emerging business.
  • Able to scope RBI requirements for both downstream and upstream clients, including subsea.
  • Ability to lead a small team of technical personnel.
  • Contribute to business development and tendering activities and build relations with clients.
  • Provide technical support to other Wood Group companies. 
  • Willingness to travel would be advantageous.

Job Requirements

  • A relevant recognised degree in Engineering or Materials related specialisation.
  • Registered professional engineer in Malaysia or is seeking such registration.
  • Minimum 6 years experience with extensive relevant materials/corrosion engineering experience within the oil and gas sector.
  • Hands on knowledge of commercially available RBI software solutions.
  • Able to author RBI methodologies for implementation into RBI software.
  • Familiar with metallic material damage mechanisms and incorporation of such mechanisms in RBI software.
  • Knowledge of Integrity Operating Windows (IOW) and implementation into RBI software.
  • Experience with non-destructive inspection methodologies and their implementation is necessary.
  • Knowledge of piping and pressure vessel inspection codes with certification in such inspection codes an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of oil & gas processing facilities would be helpful.
  • Ability to work in a multi-discipline and cultural environment is important.
  • The ability to prioritise work to meet company and client deadlines is essential.
